Humphreys Landscaping Ltd is looking for an experienced Irrigation Supervisor to take ownership of our irrigation delivery across high-end residential projects. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who values quality workmanship, technical excellence, and well-executed systems.

You will play a key role delivering high-end residential irrigation, working closely with project managers and foremen to achieve precise, high-performing outcomes.

Responsibilities
Customer & Stakeholder Service
- Work closely with Project Managers, Foremen, and Site Supervisors to clearly understand client priorities, programme requirements, and quality expectations
- Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and suppliers as required
- Ensure irrigation systems are delivered to a high standard, on time, and aligned with design intent
- Minimise rework through strong planning, accuracy, and quality control
- Provide clear, timely updates to clients regarding scheduling, system operation, and any issues
Team, Tools & Equipment
- Lead and support a small team of irrigation technicians, setting clear expectations and standards
- Ensure team vehicles are clean, organised, and fully equipped to deliver work safely and efficiently
- Ensure tools, machinery, and irrigation equipment are well maintained and fit for purpose
- Operate machinery only when appropriately qualified and in accordance with company procedures
- Prepare jobs thoroughly, including materials, equipment, and scheduling
Health & Safety
- Actively promote and uphold HLL Health & Safety standards across all irrigation works
- Proactively identify and report hazards, escalating where required
- Ensure correct use of PPE by yourself and your team at all times
- Lead by example to maintain a safe, compliant, and professional work environment
Skills & Experience
Skills & Experience
Applicants are preferred to have, but are not limited to, the following:
- Proven experience in irrigation installation, maintenance, and fault finding
- Strong practical knowledge of irrigation systems, pumps, valves, controllers, and pipework
- Experience designing, specifying, and pricing irrigation systems (high-end residential preferred)
- Understanding of horticulture and plant water requirements
- Leadership experience or the ability to confidently lead and support others
- Commitment to quality workmanship, health & safety, and team values
- Strong communication skills with a professional, client-focused approach
- A positive attitude, reliability, and pride in your work
- Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors
Requirements
- Full, clean NZ driver’s licence
- NZ citizenship, residency, or valid entitlement to work in New Zealand
