Herne Bay House III
The inspiration for this design was an inner city oasis. The client wanted to enjoy the large grounds and be able to escape everyday life.
A combination of screening hedges, large trees and bamboo surround the edges of the property to provide privacy for the sub-tropical inner areas of the garden which includes large palms and low lush planting. An area of coastal planting surrounds the lower parts of the gardens around existing coastal trees.
Steps to the beach were built around an existing mature Puriri tree and other Pohutukawa’s were also retained.
This project represents the height of inner city landscaping and construction. Tough site conditions, access and the surrounding neighbourhood added complexities throughout the project. The end result is a peaceful, mature garden that represents exactly what the client wanted within their property.
This project has been recognised as the Supreme Winner and gathered several Golds in the Registered Master Landscapers Awards 2021.
